About the Chesham Society

At our AGM on 24th January, the society found itself with insufficient committee members to continue in its present form. Efforts are being made to recover the situation, but meanwhile, our programme of meetings and publications has been suspended.

The Chesham Society is the local amenity Society for Chesham town and the surrounding parishes of Chartridge, Cholesbury-cum-St Leonards, Ashley Green, Latimer and Chesham Bois. We are a voluntary group of people who care for the Chesham area.

Formed in 1957, we are a registered charity, a member of Civic Voice and the Town Council Environmental Group. We are not political and cooperate with other groups working for the good of the town and act as a forum for debate. The Chesham Society monitors local planning schemes and applications, and encourages debate to ensure that the interests of local people are properly heard.

The Chesham Society Constitution was last amended in November 2015.
