Bucks Council Local Plan
Buckinghamshire Council is engaged in preparing the all-important Local Plan for Buckinghamshire for publication in 2025. The Local Plan will determine where development is permitted and guide decisions on planning applications. As part of the process, the Council has launched a second call for help in identifying brownfield sites which might be suitable for redevelopment or regeneration. Anyone can send in suggestions via the website. A call for greenfield sites will follow later in the year!
The Boundary Commission for England has announced that the secondary consultation on the proposed new map of electoral constituencies will take place from 22 February to 4 April 2022. In the first consultation, the Chesham Society objected to the proposals, under which Chesham and Amersham would gain Hazlemere and Beaconsfield but lose adjacent villages including Chartridge, the Missendens and The Lee.
To engage with this second consultation, go to the Boundary Commission’s consultation website. With rising inflation pushing more people into poverty, our Chesham Society gathering on Thursday 17th February is even more topical than foreseen. Join us at 7.30pm in the Lowndes Room of the Town Hall to hear how The Chiltern Food Bank fulfils its increasingly vital role. See Events for details.
