The Chesham Society initiates or promotes a range of campaigns on issues of interest to local residents. Here are some of current campaigns with which you may wish to be involved.

Traffic in the conservation area: traffic-related issues cause concern in many parts of Chesham. In the conservation area, heavy lorries may well pose a threat to the historic cottages of Church Street, many of which have no foundations. As the conservation area is Chesham’s most significant heritage asset, the consequences would be of concern to us all.
In the past, The Chesham Society has lobbied Bucks County Council on this issue, but without success. Cllr Wilford Augustus (Town Council, St Mary’s Ward) has formed The St Mary’s Action Group, which is planning a campaign to address traffic issues in the Old Town.
